Blog Promotion: How to bring more traffic to your blog

Every blogger wants to bring more traffic to their website. More traffic means more money to be earned! So how do you go about promoting your blog and getting more readers and viewers?

Creating backlinks to your blog is the first step in getting more traffic. What are "backlinks"? Backlinks are links that are directed towards your website. Also knows as Inbound links (IBL's). The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website. 


 Backlinks are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality backlinks, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query.

You should submit your blog to all search engines including google, yahoo and bing. You should also start to submit your blog free blog directories. Submitting your blog to all these directories will take time, but it is time well spent.

Another way to create high quality backlinks are to post articles into article directories with a backlink to your blog. Here is a list of article directories you can submit your articles to. 
Another great way to increase traffic to your blog is to share your site on social networks. Facebook, Twitter, and Pinetrest is a great way to start sharing and promote your blog. When posting your blog on social media sites use a catchy title or description to your posts so that reader immediately wants to know about that and click on your link. Make sure the title is accurate. Make your title SEO friendly, a proper title helps you to increase your ranking in search engines also. Title is what draws readers to read your post.

Add photos and pictures to your blog posts. This will catch the attention of views and make your blog more appealing. By uploading and hosting images (or using a third-party service like Flickr or Niice to embed your images with licensing requirements on that site), you create another traffic source for yourself via Image Search, and often massively improve the engagement and enjoyment of your visitors.

Use good key words in your blog posts. You should always try to make your blog posts at least 500 words. Also link your posts to other pages in your blog. This creates backlinks :)
